American Bar Association Law Day

State Bar of Michigan Law Day

MootCtES.jpgDuring this week-long, half-day experience, high school students argue a moot court case as if before the Supreme Court. They learn skills  that justices and attorneys use by meeting and working with a variety of legal professionals.

The moot court case for 2016 involves police entering the backyard of a suspected marijuana grow house without a warrant. Was this warrantless search unconstitutional? Or did it fall under an exception to the Fourth Amendment? Participants will argue and decide.
