This presentation, in a quiz show format, addresses some frequently asked questions and scenarios that judges and court staff encounter in court collections.

SCAO in Brief: Deferred Judgment and Delayed Sentence​
This six-minute presentation outlines the differences between deferred judgments and delayed sentences.  It covers the essential procedures judges and courts should follow when deferring the entry of a judgment of guilt under specific statutory authority and also outlines the specific statutory authority for courts to delay sentence after a judgment of guilt is entered following a plea or verdict.  This video should be viewed by circuit and district judges, county clerks, and criminal clerks in circuit and district courts.

Over the past six months, SCAO has made substantial progress in identifying a statewide e-filing and integrated electronic document-management system that will best meet the needs of Michigan courts.  A request for proposals was issued, responses have been received, and an expert team is evaluating the proposals.  Please, see the Michigan E-Filing & EDMS Report​ for the latest details and next steps in this high-priority project to help courts increase efficiency and improve service to the public.​

​On May 25, 2016, the Michigan Supreme Court amended Administrative Order No. 2013-12, which approved the rescission of the previous probate guidelines and adopted revised guidelines as recommended by the probate time guidelines workgroup.  The amended Administrative Order 2013-12 takes effect September 1, 2016.  Read the memo, with revised caseload reporting forms and instructions.
