Re-elected and New Judges: Please file new
oaths of office as required by statue (MCLs 168.420, 168.467j, and 600.812) with the county clerk and the Secretary of State, Office of the Great Seal. The Office of the Great Seal requires an original signature. Disgruntled litigants often raise this as an issue regarding a judge's authority. You should also keep a copy for your file. (
